Ambedkar Jayanti is Very Special Year: 2017

This Ambedkar Jayanti is definitely a bit significant from the others, Modi in Nagpur, Launch of Aadhaar Pay, New Twitter Emoji launched, New Development Schemes to be announced by the PM and many more.

Ambedkar Jayanti or Bhim Jayanti is a yearly festival celebrated on 14 April to pay homage to Baba Saheb Ambedkar. It denotes Ambedkar's birthday in 1891 and is observed as a public holiday throughout India.

Yes, today is the Birth Anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar also called as Baba Sahb, the key instigator of the Constitution of India. He was an Indian economist, jurist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Dalit Buddhist Movement and campaigned against social discrimination against Untouchables or the “Dalits”, while also supporting the rights of labour and women.

14 April 1891 was the day Ambedkar was born on in the town and military boot camp of Mhow in the Central Provinces (now in the Indian State -  Madhya Pradesh). Ambedkar was born into a poor dalit (Untouchable) caste, who were treated as untouchables and subjected to socio-economic discrimination. Ambedkar and other dalit children were segregated and given very little attention or help by teachers in the schools. They were not allowed to sit inside the class. When they felt thirst and needed to have some water, someone from a ’superior’ caste had to pour that water from a significant height as they were not allowed to physically touch neither the water and the vessel that contained water. This task for the young Ambedkar generally was done by the school peon, and if the peon was not available then the young Baba Saheb had to be without water; Ambedkar described the situation later in his writings as "No peon, No Water". Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar also started many newspaper. two of the Newspapers started by Dr. BR Ambedkar –

                                   Mooknayak (Mute Hero – 1920)

But why all the Buzz for an event which occurs once every year?

Sonu Nigam Azaan Controversy

About a week ago, there was this wave of nationalism due to the Snapchat "poorcountry" remark . And the hatchet wasn’t buried yet there was another fight to be fought. Yes, we found ourselves in between of some eyebrow-raising controversy. And this time, it was about a someone influential apparently hurting a particular religion's statement. It was maybe just his opinion and what people did was to twist his statement and then get offended by him, as we Indians are so good at taking offences that if were a sport, then we could be damn sure, Ki Olympics mein gold to apne le hi aayenge. Literally, we would just lose our shit even if some outsider call our country as poor and developing one. "NO", we aren't (that) poor but yes 1 out of 5 Indians do live below the extreme poverty level! The level of hypocrisy is damn too high! This time it's because of American singer-songwriter Katy Perry. Katy recently shared a photo of Goddess Kali on her Instagram with the caption 'Current mood' and suddenly all hell broke loose. While some fans came to Perry's support, a majority of Instagram users slammed her for posting the picture, calling the move disrespectful. It is important to know that the singer is drawn towards the Indian culture and she hasn't kept this fascination a secret. In fact, back in 2010, she chose Rajasthan (She could've easily chosen Las Vegas,
